We know the kids are on Christmas vacation when we all get to sleep in till 7:30 . Ollie and Theo have been skateboarding, Simon has been bopping around the yard talking to himself thinking about Christmas morning, Henry has had some of his phone and computer privileges restored and Sam has been hammering away at college entrance essays. Debbie has been the only crafter in the house this year making colorful paper window stars on a daily basis. Newcomers into the kitchen have been the Kitchen Aid meat grinder and sausage attachment which were put to use the other night with homemade kielbasa. I’m also working on a modification of our pain du jour with the addition of whole wheat flout, nut and oats. We’ve been chugging our way through Dicken’s A Christmas Carol to Ollie before bedtime playing Christmas songs on the ukulele while he falls asleep.
